Global Perspectives on KE | What Makes University–Industry Collaboration Work?
Description
As part of the Global Perspectives on Knowledge Exchange webinar series, delivered in partnership with Knowledge Exchange UK and AUTM, this session will explore what makes university–industry collaborations work in practice.
Successful collaborations between universities or research organisations and industry are critical to translating research into real-world impact - but are rarely straightforward. This discussion will explore what differentiates high-performing partnerships from those that stall, drawing on practical experience from both academia and industry.
Topics will include aligning incentives and benefits for both parties, building trust, managing and transferring IP, and structuring collaborations for speed and scale.
Through candid discussion, speakers will share lessons learned, common pitfalls, and approaches that enable long-term, mutually beneficial relationships, offering actionable insights for senior KT leaders shaping strategic partnerships.
