#22 KE Matters – Use of social media among the KE community

Online
2nd November 2026

Description:

Social media plays an increasingly important role in how knowledge exchange professionals communicate, build networks, share expertise and demonstrate impact. This session will discuss how social media is being used across the KE sector and explore the opportunities and challenges it presents.

Led by Matt Sutherland (Northumbria University), the discussion forms part of a research project with the Marketing Trust that was presented at this year's KEUK Conference.

The research team is currently conducting a pilot study at York St John University and is now looking to gather perspectives from the wider KE community. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences and contribute to this developing area of research.

Speakers:

  • Dr Matt Sutherland  – Associate Professor in Marketing, Northumbria University

  • Prof Laura Bradley-Mccauley – Professor of inclusive entrepreneurship, Ulster University

  •  Dr Padmali Rodrigo – Associate Professor in Marketing, Northumbria University

  • Tamsin Mann – Associate Director Sector Engagement, Knwoledge Exchange UK (Chair)
