- Navigate the UK healthcare innovation ecosystem, identifying key NHS, academic and industry stakeholders and understanding their roles, incentives and constraints.
- Apply NHS IP guidance to real-world scenarios, including understanding ownership models, collaborative projects and the differences between NHS and university IP approaches.
- Evaluate appropriate commercialisation pathways for healthcare innovations, including licensing, spinouts and service innovation, while recognising the different considerations for MedTech, digital health and therapeutics.
- Identify and address the practical barriers to NHS adoption, including procurement, commissioning, evidence generation, validation, pilots and routes to market.
- Develop and negotiate effective healthcare partnerships and commercial deals, considering collaboration structures, contracting, value recognition, revenue sharing and multi-party interests.
