Providing participants with key insights and practical tools for successful academia-industry knowledge exchange
A development programme designed for professionals new to Knowledge Exchange (KE), providing the knowledge, networks and practical tools to build confidence and capability in the sector.
The programme combines in-person learning days hosted within different KE ecosystems across the UK, interactive online workshops exploring key areas of KE, and ongoing support from an experienced sector mentor. Community of Practice sessions provide opportunities to share experiences, discuss challenges, exchange best practice and build connections with peers.

- LO1: Develop the knowledge and confidence to convey to others the value of KE inside and outside of your organisation for social, economic and environmental impact, including the different modes and ways to deliver KE
- LO2: To understand the national KE policy and the funding environment
- LO3: Knowing where to access reliable and high-quality information and best practice in KE that will support you in your role
- LO4: Understanding what skills/qualities/behaviours are relevant to successful KE professionals / practitioners
- LO5 : Develop confidence in how you can create impact within your role and institution
This course is designed as an induction programme for those new to Knowledge Exchange roles in universities, to provide a view of the landscape, policy influences and the breadth and depth of KE in all its guises.
Delegates should:
Have a current role within knowledge exchange and:
- Be based in a UK member HEI
- Be new to the knowledge exchange sector, under 12 months experience
