Matt is an Associate Professor in Marketing. His research interests include Knowledge Exchange and small business growth. In 2013, Matt established the Marketing Internship Programme and currently works with over 400 North-East SMEs. Matt is a member of the Management Board of The Small Business Charter and has chaired more than 40 knowledge exchange accreditations. He has have secured more than £5.5 million worth of research income from his extensive knowledge exchange activity, including collaborative and contract research, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Continuous Professional Development and has co-founded a national network for knowledge exchange activity. Matt also founded a leading international business podcast, “Why Small Business Matters” and uses this platform to communicate Knowledge Exchange and university and business collaboration activity. Matt has held Non- Executive Director roles for Knowledge Exchange UK and The Open North foundation.
