Funding Expert (IRC30090): Heriot-Watt University

The newly formed HWU-R&R Delivery Team has a key role in enabling a partnership with the Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal (R&R) Programme. The team will work alongside Professor Guy Walker and be aligned to the Houses of Parliament R&R Programme staff. The focus of team is to build partnerships, co-create a sociotechnical research programme with partners; and identify and secure ongoing funding. This requires high levels of agility and coordination. Agility of the team will be secured by a phased approach, and a lean team committed to grow throughout the phases. Agility, flexibility, and commitment of each team member will be key for the success of the team’s deliverables and for the overall project.

The Funding Expert will work closely with the Business Engagement to harvest funding opportunities to support research projects within the Programme. A key member of the HWU-R&R Programme Delivery Team, the Funding Expert will be responsible for the identification of suitable funding calls and the delivery of sound proposals. The post-holder be expert and trusted advisor on proposal writing, the funding landscape, application processes, and guidelines. Supported by intelligence from the rest of the team, the Funding Expert will also be instrumental in refining the funding and budget plans, and in writing a compelling Business Case, which constitutes a deliverable of this first phase of the HWU work for the Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme. Administrative support and accounting skills may also be covered by this post.
