Head of Professional and Community Development – Full Time
At PraxisAuril we’re taking the opportunity of our changing world to think differently about how we develop and deliver our programmes and services for KE practitioners. We’ve created a new role on our Exec Team for a Head of Professional and Community Development who will lead, co-ordinate and support the expansion of a PrA offering that meets the needs of our members and reflects the importance of KE to universities, government and businesses across the UK and worldwide.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, recruiting and supporting a diverse community of expert practitioner volunteers who will develop and deliver our professional development offering. You will be the lynchpin between our volunteers and the Exec team, ensuring that professional insight and technical expertise is transformed into exciting new programmes and products for the KE community. You will also have the sector knowledge and professional confidence to propose new areas for programme development, bringing expert volunteers along with you to deliver new product.
The person we’re looking for can be proactive, energetic and enjoys a challenge. You’ll also enjoy being involved from a strategic level right through to the tactics: seeing the big picture and focusing on the detail. You can think creatively and laterally to produce solutions and, most importantly, you can work collaboratively. You’re someone who understands how to motivate and support your colleagues and you in turn are motivated and rewarded by making a difference across a national organisation.
The Head of Professional and Community Development is a critical role at the very heart of PraxisAuril and will be essential for our evolution as we embrace online learning and develop the next generation of KE professional leaders. You will have the opportunity to self-organise your time and develop new ideas, while also learning a great deal from inspiring people at a range of universities and stakeholder organisations. As the person tasked with expanding our community of expert volunteer contributors and generating new business from the programmes they create, you will make a genuine difference to the future of Knowledge Exchange, PraxisAuril and its members.
You won’t need to manage direct reports but will be leading teams and projects to achieve the objectives of the role, with the opportunity to utilise your skills and experience of project and people management. You will work closely with the other members of the highly professional Exec Team, which is renowned for its friendly, flexible ethos, as well as the wider KE community whose culture is embracing, open and focused on the development of all.
We are all working remotely at the moment, but when circumstances allow, we will also plan to meet regularly F2F.
