Head of Research Strategy and Funding Team: University of Oxford

We are currently advertising to fill the role of Head of Research Strategy and Funding Team in the Medical Sciences Divisional Office at the University of Oxford.

The Head of Research Strategy and Funding Team is a senior officer within the Medical Sciences Divisional Office, responsible for strategic planning in relation to research funding, research facilitation, research policy and administration. Working closely with the Head of Division, Deputy Head (Research) and Deputy Head (Innovation), you will take a leadership role in developing and implementing the Division’s research strategy.

This is a challenging job and we are therefore seeking a confident self-starter with excellent skills in strategic thinking, developing & implementing policy, written & oral communication, personnel management, and committee servicing. You will work largely independently, and will need to relate well to staff at all levels, having the ability to deal sensitively and tactfully with complex situations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in research support, and will have extensive experience of managing strategic bids for external research funding.

Salary: Grade 10: £55,750 – £64,605 per annum

Contract: Maternity leave cover for 15 months.  Full time, part-time, job sharing and secondment options will be considered for the duration of the 15 months FTC
