Knowledge Exchange Policy & Governance Officer
Drive KEI policy, governance and innovation excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape how knowledge exchange and innovation (KEI) are governed and delivered across UCL.
As Knowledge Exchange Policy & Governance Officer, you will support the development and delivery of policy and governance frameworks that enable KEI activity across UCL. Working closely with the KE Policy Manager, you will help translate strategic priorities into practical policy and processes that support a university-wide culture of KEI excellence. You will play a key role in embedding consistent governance approaches across the UCL ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of KEI policies and governance frameworks
Completing research, analysis and benchmarking to inform policy decisions
Producing clear guidance, communications and training to support policy adoption
Monitoring implementation and evaluating policy effectiveness and impact
Coordinating stakeholder engagement across academic and professional services teams
The role offers the opportunity to work on cross-institutional KEI initiatives and to build expertise in policy, governance and organisational change within a leading university.
The role offers hybrid working, with remote working available for part of the week.
You are confident working with complex information and translating it into clear, practical outputs including recommendations, guidance and communications. You bring excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
You will also demonstrate:
Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior colleagues
Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work across organisational boundaries
A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to navigate ambiguity and evolving priorities
Experience in policy development, governance, higher education, or innovation/enterprise contexts would be advantageous.
Above all, you will share our commitment to enabling UCL’s strategic ambitions in knowledge exchange and innovation through collaboration.
