Partnership Development Manager (Health and Life Sciences)

The University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint a Partnership Development Manager to join the Research, Partnerships & Innovation Directorate. The role offers an exciting opportunity to help deliver the University’s research and Knowledge Exchange (KE) ambitions through a diverse range of partnership development activities, to help grow co-created research collaborations with organisations such as businesses, local government and cultural partners.

You may work on projects that span the whole University, but this role will focus on supporting the aspirations of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. The purpose of the role is to ensure the University has a pipeline of ambitious projects and established networks of collaborative partnerships to help bring in research income and realise research impact. The role is varied from providing support and guidance on knowledge exchange, through to project managing major funding bids co-created with external partners.

The post is a fixed-term contract to 31 July 2031, which may be extended subject to funding.
Interviews to take place at the end of September 2026

You will have a degree and relevant business or key partnership development experience or other relevant professional experience. You will be a self-starter, flexible to the rapidly evolving funding calls and able to respond effectively to short deadlines.

Your success in the role will be judged by the number of joint research bids submitted and success rate in generating externally funded income (at least 50% of the role will be dedicated to such tasks), by delivering other forms of impact that can be returned in REF as an impact case study, developing focussed activity where our distinctive research strengths attract greater clusters of talent, resources and priority partners and by progressing the maturity of partnerships towards institutional strategic partners with which we share common research strategies and even in some cases joint facilities.
