Salary, circa £40,000 – £45,000, depending on experience

Cambridge Enterprise:

Part of the University of Cambridge, Cambridge Enterprise supports academics, researchers, staff and students in achieving knowledge transfer and research impact. We do this by helping innovators, experts and entrepreneurs use commercial avenues to develop their ideas and expertise for the benefit of society, the economy, themselves and the University.

‘TenU’:

Cambridge Enterprise is a member of a collaboration of 10 Universities working across the UK, EU and the US, called ‘TenU’.  This group of Research Commercialisation experts work together and with UK and US governments, to debate and develop best practice, and to provide longer term insights that can be used to inform policy and develop best practice across the ten universities and the sector.

The Role:

We are seeking a Policy Advisor to enable this collaborative ‘TenU’ group to fulfil its potential.  This role is focussed on supporting policy development, with real impact and the opportunity to influence senior level decision making. It includes gathering, analysing, interpreting and disseminating information on commercialisation policy and practice from the UK, EU and the US to inform and support aims and priorities of the ‘TenU’ group, and ultimately help drive forward best practice within this sector. There will also be an element of coordination – arranging and recording meetings and enabling effective communication between members.

The successful applicant will have excellent research, communications and advocacy skills, a clear stylish and accurate writing style, and be able to quickly build relationships.  Experience of managing projects or events would be advantageous.  The role will suit a tech-savvy individual, with an interest in academic research and innovation, and the capacity to travel to meetings within Europe and the US several times a year.   Read the full role profile here.

Benefits:

The package includes a competitive salary, a University pension, generous holiday and a flexible working environment, together with the opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced technology and knowledge transfer professionals in the world.
