Research Development Manager

We have entered a new and exciting era for research at the University, making investments in our students, staff and research infrastructure to help us achieve our overall aim of producing research that is high-impact and high-profile and that is beneficial to our stakeholder groups. We are investing in research, supporting our Colleges’ REF 2028 plans, providing doctoral bursaries and in staffing of our central hub, the University Research and Knowledge Exchange Office (URKEO).

It is thus an exciting time to be joining us and to play a role in supporting the University’s research and knowledge exchange ambitions. As Research Development Manager you will support horizon scanning, project and partner development and the preparation of high-quality applications for research funding.

Working closely with the Colleges and Academic Theme leads to support the development of their strategy for external funding, you will work as a team, working closely with other Research Development Managers, and as part of a hub and spoke model. The hub and spoke model, comprising of a Research Development Manager, Knowledge Exchange Manager and Impact Officer supports applications for external funding, to develop high quality proposals, ensuring they are compliant with the funders guidance and University policies and processes. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range or partners, internally and externally, working across multiple proposals with various deadlines.
